How to install SuperGovorilka on Mac
- Download the .dmg file: the "Download for Mac" button is for Apple Silicon (M1-M4), the "Mac with Intel" link is for Macs with an Intel processor.
- Open the .dmg and drag SuperGovorilka into the Applications folder.
- Launch the app and allow access to the microphone and Accessibility - without it, text cannot be pasted into other programs.
- Wait for the recognition model to download - the internet is needed only this once.
- Put the cursor in any field, press Right Command, say your text, then press it again or Space.
How it differs from built-in macOS dictation
Built-in macOS dictation is free, and on Macs with Apple Silicon it recognizes Russian right on the device - a good option for short phrases. On Intel Macs, dictation sends speech to Apple servers, while SuperGovorilka works offline there too.
SuperGovorilka works the same on Mac and Windows, and a single PRO purchase covers both - handy if you have two computers. For more, see the page "SuperGovorilka vs built-in macOS dictation".
Requirements
- macOS 12+, Apple Silicon or Intel.
- About 1.5 GB of free space for the accurate large-v3-turbo model.
- Permissions: microphone and Accessibility; for Right Command, macOS may ask for Input Monitoring.
